Visiting Pilots

Visiting pilots are very welcome at Southdown Gliding Club.  We have first-class facilities and the flying is great fun, especially with the South Downs on our doorstep. Like many airfields, there are site specific features you MUST be aware of and take into account before flying.  Please make sure you have read and understood the following information.

Before your visit, you must read “Flying at Parham and take particular note of the site-specific risks and mitigations.  If you are intending to fly the South Downs, please make sure that you are familiar with the advice in the section on Flying the Ridge.

Parham frequency is now 124.965MHz.

Powered Aircraft Arrivals

Note that powered aircraft arrivals is by PPR and must be gliding related. Please review this document: Visiting Powered Aircraft Mar24

Please note:

  • No international arrivals or departures can take place at Parham Airfield.
  • Powered aircraft arriving from non-UK airfields would be in breach of section 21(1) of CEMA, as the site does not hold a Certificate of Agreement for international traffic.
